1. First Kalma: Kalma Tayyibah (Word of Purity)
Arabic: لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اﷲُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اﷲِ
English: There is no god but Allah,and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
Significance: The Kalma Tayyibah is the declaration of faith, affirming the oneness of Allah
and the prophethood of Muhammad(PBUH).
2. Second Kalma: Kalma Shahadah (Word of Testimony)
Arabic: اَ
شْهَدُ اَنْ لَّآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَہٗ لَاشَرِيْكَ لَہٗ وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهٗ
وَرَسُولُہٗ
English: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and He is One and has no
partner.
And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
Significance: The Kalma Shahadah reinforces the testimony of faith and the
acknowledgment
Of Muhammad (PBUH) as Allah’s servant and messenger.
3. Third Kalma: Kalma Tamjeed (Word of Glorification)
Arabic: سُبْحَان اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُلِلّهِ وَلا إِلهَ إِلّااللّهُ
وَاللّهُ أكْبَرُ وَلا حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيْم
English: Glory be to Allah, and all praise be to Allah; there is no god but Allah,and
Allah is
the Greatest.There is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Great.
Significance: This Kalma emphasizes glorifying and praising Allah, acknowledging
His
greatness and supreme power.
4. Fourth Kalma: Kalma Tawheed (Word of Oneness)
Arabic: لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهٗ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهٗ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْىٖ وَ يُمِيْتُ وَ هُوَحَیٌّ لَّا يَمُوْتُ اَبَدًا اَبَدًاؕ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْاِكْرَامِؕ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُؕ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شیْ ٍٔ قَدِیْرٌؕ
English: There is no god but Allah. He is One and has no partner. His is the Kingdom and
all praise is for Him. He gives life and causes death. In His hands is all good, and He has
power over everything.
Significance: Kalma Tauheed underscores the concept of monotheism, highlighting Allah’s
sovereignty and omnipotence.
5. Fifth Kalma: Kalma Istighfar (Word of Seeking Forgiveness)
Arabic: اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهِ رَبِّىْ مِنْ كُلِِّ ذَنْۢبٍ اَذْنَبْتُهٗ عَمَدًا اَوْ خَطَا ًٔ سِرًّا اَوْ عَلَانِيَةً وَّاَتُوْبُ اِلَيْهِ مِنَ الذَّنْۢبِ الَّذِیْٓ اَعْلَمُ وَ مِنَ الذَّنْۢبِ الَّذِىْ لَآ اَعْلَمُ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوْبِ وَ سَتَّارُ الْعُيُوْبِ و َغَفَّارُ الذُّنُوْبِ وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِىِِّ الْعَظِيْمِؕ
English: I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, from every sin I committed knowingly or unknowingly,
openly or secretly. I turn in repentance to Him for sins I am aware of and for sins I am unaware of.
Surely, You are the Knower of the unseen, the Concealer of faults, and the Forgiver of sins. There is no
power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Great.
Significance: This Kalma is a plea for Allah’s forgiveness, expressing repentance for sins committed
intentionally or unintentionally.
6. Sixth Kalma: Kalma Radde Kufr (Word of Rejecting Disbelief)
Arabic:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْٓ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ اَنْ اُشْرِكَ بِكَ شَيْئًا وَّاَنَآ اَعْلَمُ بِهٖ وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا لَآ اَعْلَمُ بِهٖ تُبْتُ عَنْهُ وَ تَبَرَّأْتُ مِنَ الْكُفْرِوَ الشِّرْكِ وَ الْكِذْبِ وَ الْغِيْبَةِ وَ الْبِدْعَةِ وَ النَّمِيْمَةِ وَ الْفَوَاحِشِ وَ الْبُهْتَانِ وَ الْمَعَاصِىْ كُلِِّهَا وَ اَسْلَمْتُ وَ اَقُوْلُ لَآاِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللهِؕ
English: O Allah! I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You knowingly, and I seek Your
forgiveness for that which I do not know. I repent from it and I declare myself free from disbelief,
polytheism, lying, backbiting, innovation, slander, obscenity, false accusation, and all sins. I embrace
Islam and I say: There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
Significance: The Kalma Radde Kufr is a renunciation of disbelief and a reaffirmation of commitment to
the principles of Islam.
